Tip Tuesday: Try that Dress on and Those Shoes

Similar to how you wouldn’t buy a car without taking it on at least one test drive, you shouldn't wait until the day of your wedding day to try your dress on with the full ensemble.  Your wedding day is already a hectic one with having to get your hair and makeup down and having any wardrobe malfunctions is something no bride wants to experience.  By trying on your dress with your jewelry, shoes and a rough example of your hair do, you can make sure you like the finished look prior to day of.  This will help make you feel more comfortable the day of your wedding.

BREAK IN THOSE SHOES!

For many brides, your wedding shoes are brand spanking new and it is never a fun time wearing brand new shoes for the first time when you will be most likely on your feet for over 8 hours.  Wear your shoes around your house and on various surfaces a few times before your wedding day to ensure they are comfortable and that you can in fact walk in them.  You would be surprised to know how many brides purchase shoes that are more for the appearance than the practicality of them.  Yes, you want to look like a princess on your special day! But remember this princess is going to be walking around and on her feet most of the day and no one wants a cranky princess because of her shoe situation.

Tip Tuesday: Practice your Vows

If you and your significant other are deciding to write your own vows, it is a good idea to practice what you are going to say.  You would be amazed how much more comfortable you will feel when you are reading your vows in front of your person as well as your wedding guests if you have practiced them previously.  Whispering your vows a few days in advance in the mirror to yourself will help you make sure what you wrote is what you are actually trying to say as well as allow you to read your vows with confidence and minimal nerves.

Tip Tuesday: Remember to Soak in Every Moment

Planning a wedding is nothing short of another full-time job and even though having a planner greatly eliminates the work the couple needs to do, many brides and grooms do feel the stress of the big day.  Do not get us wrong, one’s wedding day is both the happiest and most nerve inducing day of their lives.  However, it is important to not sweat the small stuff and soak up the moments that make up your special day.

It is important to remember that no one will remember that the food was served 30 minutes late or that the wedding ceremony took longer than expected because the priest liked to talk.  What people will remember is the happiness and love in the eyes of the couple and it is important that the bride and groom also remember that.

Many couples are so focused on making the day perfect that they forget to enjoy each others company and the company of their guests.
